How You Can Help

In-kind donations:  If you need it in your home, we probably need it in ours.  Right now we are in dire need of toiletries and paper products, and cleaning supplies. Linens, tableware, toiletries, nonperishable food, and recreation supplies are always welcome, as are tickets to events, gift certificates (for food, gasoline, clothing, books and videos, etc.), furniture, small appliances, and pots and pans.  Donated items we cannot currently use in our programs will be sold on e-bay, reserved for a garage sale, or shared with other agencies.

Cash donations:  Donations of any amount  are our lifeblood.  All donations are tax-deductible.  If you choose to make a gift as a memorial or honorarium, we will be happy to send an acknowledgement to the person or persons you designate.  Such a notification never specifies the amount of the gift.  You may donate by check,  by MasterCard or Visa, or by clicking the “donate” button on any  page on this website

Volunteer  work:  Individuals are needed as mentors for girls at the Home, as recreation aides for the Shelter, and for a variety of tasks related to our annual Tea Party and other fundraising events.  Clubs and other groups  may choose to conduct a fund-raising event for us or help us in other ways (for example, painting a fence, cooking a supply of  casseroles).

Join our Sustainers’ Circle:  This informal auxiliary meets occasionally.  Individual members assist with all the volunteer tasks listed above,  and support the agency in whatever other ways they choose.

For more information on ways you can help, to arrange a speaker from our agency or a tour of the Home or Shelter for your group, to join the Sustainers’ Circle, or for  questions, call Sammye Ruppeck at 325-655-3821 or email
