Salvation Army, Red Shield Lodge provides temporary shelter for homeless, 2 free nights each night after is $13.00. You can call (325) 655-6981 during the day after five you can call (325) 227-4679.
Medical Transportation- can help you get to an appointment if notified within reasonable time frame. 1-877-633-8747
Concho Valley Transit District operates city buses. Monthly passes are $15.00 if you are a student or if you present a Medicaid card. Passes can be purchased at 55 E. 6th (near Chadbourne and Houston Harte), and maps and timetables are also available there.. FMI call 947-8729.
Electric Service payment assistance. Catholic Outreach Services (658-4124, 410 N Chadbourne), Christians in Action Assistance Department 655-5127, 555e 6th St), Salvation Army Comprehensive Assistance (655-6961, 215 Gillis), help low-income families with electric bills. CEAP also offers such help for those with income below 125% of federal poverty guidelines; bill must be in client’s name (653-1680, 36 E Twohig)
Telephone Service. You may qualify to receive a free cell phone and free service including 250 minutes and 250 text messages monthly if you are on Medicaid, food stamps, TANF, various other government programs, or on the basis of your income.
